IBPOC Mentor 2024 - XR Narrative Development
Single Thread Theatre, in partnership with Debbie Deer Productions, grants a three-month paid training incubator for eight IBPOC fellows.
The main goal of the fellowship program is to offer an opportunity for IBPOC artists to expand their knowledge of the extended reality (XR) industry under the guidance of established mentors, in order to increase their employability and collaborative potential in the emerging XR and live performance medium.
SXSW 2023 - Synchronous Realities: Live XR Entertainment

Covering a variety of platforms and technology available to creators and designers, this session will share insights on how to ignite your audience. Immerse Global Summit 2022 - Virtual Theatre: The Metaverse Smashes the Four Walls
This panel discusses the emergence of XR theatre production, including VR and AR integration with narrative original and adaptive works, as well as how to blend XR technologies with live and virtual audiences. The theatre world has developed communities for live, virtual productions that will continue to evolve as we emerge from COVID-19 pandemic. In this session, some of the leading producers of virtual theatre and dance demonstrate recent and new works, including DUET, 'Finding Pandora X,' and the Liam Payne EE BAFTA Live AR performance.
PXR 2022 Workshop - The Power of Social Connection through Story
Bringing audiences together in social VR for an interactive, collective experience is an intricate puzzle that combines story, worldbuiding and interaction strategy. During this hour-long workshop, participants will meet in AltSpace VR to engage in activities related to interactive narratives, improvisation, and immersive spaces. Exploring Double Eye Studios’ virtual theatre space, the group will work as a collective whole, as well as be divided into mini groups for intimate collaboration. Online attendees will be able to watch, and will be given their own interactive assignment.
METAVERSE 2.0 2022 - Storytelling In the Mythaverse - The Making of Finding Pandora X
Finding Pandora X by Double Eye Studios’ Kiira Benzing (Founder and VR director) and Alyssa Landry (Narrative Director) illustrates how socially connected virtual worlds can be ideal venues for immersive theater in the Metaverse.
Pulling back the virtual curtains, we will take you behind the scenes of our production and share insights into our storyworld, Mt. Olympus, to consider the opportunities that virtual worlds offer for events and Live Entertainment.
Filmgate Miami 2022 - XR: Interactive and Immersive Storytelling Master Class
This three-hour master class dives into the narrative development process for XR experiences. Theme parks have been creating immersive, interactive entertainment for over half a century and their well-established production pipelines provide a blueprint with direct parallels to the XR process. Alyssa will be discussing tips and techniques from theme park best practices, using them as a jumping off point to explore how they can be applied to the narrative development of XR projects.
