Last night we did our second performance of Sweeney Todd at the Reims Opera House, a gorgeous "théâtre à l'italien" built in 1873. Nothing can describe the sheer joy of being in such an incredible production of one of my all time favorite shows, playing a role that is the epitome of all that an actress could ever dream of, in a theater that is one of the most beautiful in France...
How could we do otherwise than to send out a very heart-felt wish for birthday happiness to the master who is behind so much of what we love about musical theater. Happy, happy birthday, Mr. Sondheim!
